I WONDER IF GEN ALPHA AND THE ZOOMERS ARE SICK OF ME-TOO TRANSPORTATION
I WONDER IF GEN ALPHA AND THE ZOOMERS ARE SICK OF ME-TOO TRANSPORTATION
I parked at the store in my gray SUV the other day. When I came out, I was struck that the 15 SUV's surrounding mine basically looked the same. I should have taken a picture.
So my inclination is that we are near the precipice that might rekindle the idea of "out of the box" thinking from the OEM's.
Can you imagine visiting a dealership in the future hosting a variety of 2-door coupes and muscle cars, a couple convertibles, newly designed mini-vans, utility-based pick-ups, and even SUV's and crossovers.
Anyone with the unfortunate situation right now needing a new ride probably has to suck up the fact they'll be blowing $50-60K for an SUV. Once reality sets in, the only real decision is color and brand.
So which OEM is going to take a chance to create a sellable line-up of UNIQUE products where people can customize their life and image as a proud owner of a vehicle that reflects their lifestyle, existence, and character.
I'll beat this dead horse by remembering the crazy sci-fi Utopian movie from the '70's called "Logan's Run". It featured a society of people dressed in the same jumpsuit, residing in little apartment cubicles, and working in static governmental-style occupations punching the clock. (The plot involves one guy who's fed up with the monotony and craving to be himself.)
To the OEM's: You ARE BORING US to death with your bland creativity.
